A Look Inside the Conservation Department

~

Recently, the Library's Conservation department began a routine cleaning of the collections. Some of our volumes are very delicate and must be treated with care, kept out of direct sunlight, and only handled with gloves. It is these most delicate and precious volumes that our department meticulously cleans and stabilizes. It would be a shame if these precious tomes were lost, as it would represent the destruction of a unique world view.

2001: A Space Odessey Viewing

The Library will host a viewing of 2001: A Space Odessey Viewing at a date to be determined.

The Inaugural Colloquium

The Library regrets its belated post in regards to this monumental event. This colloquium was an perfect inception to what we hope will become an important series of scholarly talks. Our speaker, Samuel DeschĂȘnes Halpert, captivated the audience by delving into the very nature of story-telling and the dynamic, simultaneous relationship between the reader, the text, and the author in his analysis of the Canterbury Tales in the context of Beothian thought. Refreshments included a delicious quiche, pastries, and a vast assortment of tea. We warmly welcome future colloquium speakers.
